The sources said that applications to start domestic flights are being considered from Macksons Holdings, Upali Aviation, Asian Aviation, and several other companies.
Meanwhile applications are also being considered from a number of companies to start expand the domestic helicopter services.
SriLankan Airlines has expanded its sea plane service further. Presently, the service is available to Randenigala, Victoria, Polgolla, Nilaweli, Beruwala and Koggala destinations.
A new sea plane service from Colombo Beira Lake to Yidanganawa in Buttala is to be launched by SriLankan Airlines soon, Civil Aviation Authority says.
