100th birth anniversary of Sri Lankan national anthem composer commemorated

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa participated in a ceremony commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of the composer of the Sri Lankan national anthem, artiste Ananda Samarakoon at Temple Trees today (13 Jan).



A large number of artistes and school children participated in the event. The President is seen here interacting with school children.


Cultural Affairs Minister T. B. Ekanayaka, Secretary to the Cultural Affairs Ministry Wimal Rupasinghe, Professors Sunil Ariyarathne and Carlo Fonseka were also among the invitees at the occasion.
