Sri Lanka President inspects the Kfir jet crash

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today inspected the site where two Sri Lankan Air Force Kfir jets crashed during a fly past rehearsal at Weeragula in Gampaha district.


The President visited the site on his way to Colombo after concluding scheduled programmes in Anuradhapura.
At the site, President Rajapaksa spoke with residents in the area who witnessed the crash.
The two Israeli-built fighter jets collided in mid-air during the maneuver killing one of the pilots. They were training for an air show to be performed at the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Sri Lanka Air Force to be commenced tomorrow.
